What is Pilates? Pilates is a whole body workout using slow, controlled movements to develop long, lean muscles. Building strength from within by targeting the deep postural muscles (the Core) Pilates works all the muscle groups, rebalancing them and bringing the body into correct alignment, encouraging it to work more effectively. Created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, his method combines the mind, breath and movement to create a streamlined and flexible body. Many people find that Pilates is beneficial for a variety of health conditions, especially back pain, and that it improves their performance in other forms of exercise and sport as well as enhancing every day life.
The moves are designed to be suitable for any age and level of fitness and are the perfect blend of exercise and relaxation.
